Don't believe all the ghost
Stories you hear! Here are some renowned places thought to be haunted but no evidence has ever been presented to prove a haunting.
Amityville!!! NO More!!
Believe what you want to believe, but the facts are that
only ONE family has ever experiences and both the people who lived there at that time are dead and the kids, now adults refuse
to discuss it. It's time to move on from this. The true tragedy is that several people were murdered in 1974 and we
really dont know the exact story. However, check out The Night the DeFeos Died, by Ric Osuna. it's a great
read.
Eastern State Prison, Philadelphia:y Contrary to popular belief, no one was
ever executed at Eastern State. They have a death row, but the inmates were sent to another prison for execution. When you
tour the building, there's no question its scary, the atmosphere is very creepy. Yet there are only two ghost stories told
on the walkin tour, and both could be the power of suggestion. At night the place is scary, but could it be psychological?
Its liely...
Gettysburg, PA. A Real Ghost Town??
Chances are there are some haunted places in Gettysburg, but it seems almost like there are too many haunted places in Gettysburg. Nowadays every bar, restaurant, and store appears to have
a haunting. While at Gettysburg we spoke with the owner of a tavern who told us his waitresses thought the place was haunted because something was unfolding the tablecloths in the linen closet. He told
us he didn’t believe the place was haunted, and he may have been
right. According to this bartender years ago Gettysburg was known for its historical resources, but in the past few years
many people are cashing in on the whole ghost influence. Ghost tours are popping up everywhere, and they’re very popular.
Media is always featuring haunted places in Gettysburg as well. Even
the Jenny Wade house has a story that a chain in the basement rattles by itself. Some of our team saw this happen, but it
doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that people walking upstairs make the chain vibrate! Not to say that Gettysburg
is ghost-free, it has its share especially due to its history, but it seems suddenly everyone has a story about a ghost, and
often it costs a buck or two to hear it.
The White House: Hello Dolley!
Possibly some ghosts, but it seems like there
are never any new stories regarding this place. How many times have the stories been told about the queen that saw Lincoln
or the ghost of Dolley Madison chasing the gardeners away from her roses. We never hear any stories about the White House,
and with all those people working there and former workers it’s a surprise there are multitudes of stories about this
place over the years. Really it seems the same five or six stories keep getting recycled, and has anyone heard a good White
House ghost report after 1985?
Gadsby's Tavern, are the spirits just in the bottles?
Speak to any docent or employee of Gadsby’s
Tavern and the same message will be told. There aren’t any ghosts in Gadsby’s Tavern. There have been only about
three reports of this place being haunted, and there are no eye witness
accounts of the “Lady in Green” that hangs out in the ballroom. The tavern is very active but few if any patrons
or museum visitors experience anything unusual. It’s likely this place can be filed into an “urban legends”
cabinet; great food, no ghosts.
Old Towne inn, Manassas. Lucy, are you home??
Several people have purposely checked into rooms
50, 51, 52 and 53 of this place to find “Lucy”. Most found nothing. Reporters, investigators and interested ghost
buffs as well as unknowing patrons have checked into the inn and experiences nothing but a good nights sleep. Even many of
the staff members know little or nothing about the ghost of the inn. It’s possible this place has no facts to back up
the stories and possibly things were exaggerated and fabricated over time.
We're not saying these places aren't haunted, they're just questionable. If you have any authentic experiences in any of
these areas or any other well known areas please emails us and well be happy to look into them as haunted opposed to hype
